For conducting Integrated Biological and Behavioural Surveillance (IBBS) Surveys among People who Inject Drugs, Men who have Sex with Men&Transgender People, Female Sex Workers, Truckers (Clients of Female Sex Workers) and Male Labour Migrants

Government of Nepal, Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), National Centre for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC) is leading the national surveillance systems and activities on HIV and sexually transmitted infections in Nepal to understand the epidemic and monitoring the response. For this, NCASC is requesting for Expression of Interest (EOI) from experienced research organizations to conduct high quality integrated biological and behavioural surveillance (IBBS) surveys. These surveys are planned in the current fiscal year 2070-2071 and financed from the Global Fund and Pool Fund.

The EOI is called for the IBBS surveys among:

 

  1. (1) People who Inject Drugs in Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara Valley, Eastern and Western Terai Highway Districts;
  2. (2) Men who have Sex with Men and Transgender people in Kathmandu Valley and Eastern-Western Terai Districts;
  3. (3) Female Sex Workers in Kathmandu Valley;
  4. (4) Truckers (Proxy of Clients of FSWs) in Terai Highway Districts; and
  5. (5) Male Labour Migrants in Western to Mid and Far Western Districts.

 

The interested research organizations should apply to National Centre for AIDS and STD Control (NCASC), Teku, Kathmandu, NOT LATER THAN Thursday 28 November 2013, 04:00 PM NST. Application form along with detail Terms of Reference (TOR) to submit the EOI is available from NCASC, Teku, Kathmandu. The qualified research organizations should apply with the completed application form with required administrative and technical evidences as demanded in the TOR. No telephone enquires will be entertained. NCASC holds all rights to accept and/or reject applications without notifying to the applicants. Any effort to influence the selection process will automatically result in disqualification.
